ABOUT AMMA

Sri Mata Amritanandamayi, globally recognised humanitarian and spiritual leader.

Amma has travelled the world for over 30 years, bringing love, hope and peace through her talks and her signature embrace (darshan), which she offers to everyone regardless of nationality, faith or background. In response to the needs and suffering shared by the millions of people who come to her, Amma founded a global network of charities called Embracing the World. Projects span the entire social spectrum, from health and education to housing, environment and disaster relief. Amma has spoken at the UN numerous times and has received global awards for her contribution to peace. She was nominated by the Indian government to chair the Civil Society 20 (C20) for India’s 2023 Presidency of the G20.

MA CENTRE UK

Established in 2018, the M.A. Centre UK aims to serve and contribute to the local community by offering spiritual, ecological, educational and wellbeing programs.

The M.A. Centre UK is a branch of M.A. Math, Amma’s  organisation that supports humanitarian activities in India and the wider international community through a network of charitable projects under the banner Embracing the World.

M.A. Centre UK also provides a base in South London for people to come together for retreats, satsangs and special events.

Ongoing fundraising efforts provide financial support for charitable initiatives in the UK and overseas.
